Alex Kronemer is the co-founder and Executive Director of Unity Productions Foundation (UPF), as well as the writer and director of many of its award-winning films. His work has received widespread recognition, including an Emmy nomination for The Sultan and the Saint and an Academy Award short-listing for the animated feature Lamya’s Poem. He is now leading UPF’s newest venture into interactive media as the director of Vanished, a story-driven mobile game scheduled for release in 2026.
Throughout his career, Alex has dedicated himself to fostering peace and understanding across cultures and faiths — a commitment that has shaped both his filmmaking and his public engagement. Before founding UPF, he worked with a humanitarian agency assisting refugees resettling in the United States, served as part of the founding staff of the U.S. Institute of Peace, and later joined the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Human Rights.
