Daniel Tutt

Producer and Director of Programs

Daniel leads the scholarly development of UPF films and he directs the outreach and educational programs. He has developed and implemented several programs at UPF including the short film American Muslims: Facts vs. Fiction, the nationwide interfaith discussion program 20,000 Dialogues, the youth refugee poetry workshop Unfold Your Own Myth, the lecture and interfaith discussion series Bridges of Virtue and the humanities program American Muslim Pathways.

Daniel received a Ph.D. in philosophy and critical thought at European Graduate School and a Masters of Arts in ethics from American University. He is the editor of the book Islam and Justice: New Ethical Perspectives with IIIT Press and Psychoanalysis and the Politics of the Family: The Crisis of Initiation with the Palgrave Lacan Series and How to Read Like a Parasite: Why the Left Got High on Nietzsche with Repeater Books. Tutt served as associate producer for UPF's Emmy-award winning documentary The Sultan and the Saint and his writing has been featured in Jacobin Magazine, Current Affairs, Philosophy Now and Aeon Magazine.
